Hey there! Welcome to my website/blog, where we take a nostalgic dive into the golden era of PC computing. Growing up in the ’90s, I witnessed the rise of household PCs, from my first PC – an AMD 486 DX4 100 running Windows 3.11 (and later Windows 95) – to the thrill of reading PC Magazines about Voodoo graphics and Slot 1 Pentium IIs. Back then, I couldn’t afford all the shiny new tech, but now, 25+ years later, tinkering with retro hardware has become my passion. If you love vintage tech and quirky projects, subscribe to my YouTube channel and join me on this journey through the world of retro hardware!

Hardware Repairs/Donations

Got a broken piece of childhood hardware from the 1980s to 2000s that you’d love to see restored? I’m passionate about repairing and reviving retro tech on my YouTube channel! E-mail me at bitsundbolts@gmail.com with details about the item, its condition, and its story, and I’ll consider it for a repair project. I don’t charge for repairs unless rare, expensive parts (like 3Dfx chips) are needed, but I kindly ask that shipping costs be covered. My time and expenses are supported by channel sponsors, and if you’d like to help keep ‘Bits und Bolts’ going, check out the support options below or simply drop me an e-mail. Every piece helps preserve tech history, so let’s bring those memories back to life!

Financial support

Your support means the world to me and keeps the retro tech journey alive – thank you for fueling my passion! Every contribution helps me restore more vintage hardware and share these nostalgic stories with you. I’m deeply grateful for your generosity, which makes every project on ‘Bits und Bolts’ possible! Here are possible ways to support my work:

Patreon:

This is an easy way to set up monthly recurring contributions or make a one-time donation. You can also purchase digital items from my Patreon Shop. If you’ve got one of my designs, like a PCB, and want to show your support, contributing here is a great way to do it!

Bitcoin:

Many modes of payment that involve banks or other intermediaries will incur overhead cost. I did not find any better alternative than Bitcoin (BTC) that allows Peer-2-Peer transactions at very low cost! If you know what Bitcoin is and have used it, you’re more then welcome to show your support by sending a few Sats my way:

BTC Network (on-chain): bc1q2dvf9flf78lam33qjj9w9xgvfxdgre7g9x3rmw

Tether:

If you’d rather use a stable coin like USDT, you can do so too. I am aware that there are multiple networks that can be used to transfer Tether, but I will list only ERC20 for now. If you prefer to use a different network, please let me know and I will create the required address.

ERC20: 0x312214fbfa3ceb285e4b28a33b7f3f780a84892b

Why no PayPal? Well, I had an account once and then PayPal decided to block it permanently. I am no longer able to use their services and I no longer trust them after they kept 300 USD frozen for 6 months.
